Inner Eye

Improve Your Sleep Quality

Our lives include time for sleep. Why not, therefore, raise the standard of your sleep? Make small adjustments that suit you the best.

Here are some ideas for making the most of your sleep:

Eat a lighter dinner earlier in the evening, do some exercise, and give yourself 30 minutes before bed to “no screens, no phones.”

Inner Eye

Life is about growth, change, and mobility. We need the inner eye of quiet and stability to give us the inner strength to cope when the storms of change and instability are raging around us. It gives us a foundation on which to think clearly and forcefully. We need not resist change; rather, we can welcome it since it is rooted in the timeless, unchangeable truths of spirituality.

Observing but Not Absorbing

When we observe, we adopt a fresh, sensible mental position in each circumstance or connection we find ourselves in. We must develop the silent ability of observation to accurately determine what positive modifications in our behavior are required in a given circumstance or relationship.

We are more inclined to react and lose ourselves in the negativity of the person or event if we do not master the skill of observation. We become stuck in the “what’s wrong?” mentality, which keeps us from making things right. As we absorb and fill ourselves with negative emotions, we become heavy and remain helplessly rooted to the ground. We cannot rise above a circumstance and understand the reality of what is happening because of the seriousness of overload. As a result, we become overreacting and lose perspective.

We can use the illustration of the bird and the ant to understand better how the mental position of observation grants us the capacity for perspective. In its rush to find and gather food, the extremely busy ant can only see what is directly in front of its nose. On the other hand, the bird takes off from the ground, and as it soars higher and higher, it begins to perceive a larger picture than it did on the ground or a tree branch. It has a whole new viewpoint when viewed as a whole. Only then would it be able to see clearly where to go and what to do. When we become too involved in a problem or a relationship, we lose perspective; we turn into ants, missing the obvious and unable to envisage or consider alternate options.

Message for the day

Filling oneself with the power of optimism is the best way to defeat negativity.

What it tells you: Many undesirable traits continue to influence how people speak, act, and behave in their daily lives. It is impossible to eliminate such negativity by constantly reminding oneself of it. Instead, providing a reason and a reminder to be positive helps naturally end this negativity. The darkness starts to fade when even the smallest beam of light appears.

What you should experience: I am able to quickly overcome my shortcomings that initially appear to be difficult once I begin to recognize and engage with my inner positive. I can control my weaknesses and turn them into strengths by paying less attention to my weaknesses and more attention to my strengths. In any case, there is a complete sensation of positivity.
